About

Raphajo’s roots go back long before its official creation — to a family kitchen where Joleine used to watch her mother cook, fascinated by the simplicity of her seasoning. With just herbs and garlic, her mother’s dishes were always rich in flavor, turning every meal into a memorable moment. That authentic simplicity stayed with Joleine.

Years later, after moving to Canada, the idea of creating a product inspired by her mother’s recipes emerged during an entrepreneurship launch course. What had once been a cherished memory became a clear vision: sharing those family flavors with a wider audience.

With boldness and determination, Joleine began testing her concept directly with potential customers — in parks, at events, and wherever people gathered. The early days came with a few beginner’s mistakes, but they were quickly corrected, helping shape and strengthen the brand.

Today, Raphajo stands proudly as a brand born from love, courage, and tradition — a tribute to roots, to simple yet powerful spices, and to the passing down of flavor across generations.

The Founder

I come from Haiti, a country where every sound, every scent, every color tells a story. It is there that my passion for music was born, in the sacristy of a small church where I discovered the bass guitar at the age of ten. Little by little, the stage became my space of freedom.

But my life is not lived only in notes and chords. In the kitchen, too, I compose. With Raphajo, I create a dialogue between Caribbean flavors and influences from around the world.

Raphajo is an invitation to travel through spices and sauces inspired by Haitian traditions, to rediscover the richness of a culinary heritage passed down from generation to generation.

For me, music and cooking are the two beats of the same heart. One nourishes the soul, the other the body. Every dish, every melody, is a way of celebrating my roots and sharing a piece of my world with others. “If music is at the heart of life, spices are at the heart of the table.”

de la vie,

les épices le sont pour la table.»
